Victoria has no shortage of iconic spots for family photos. What if you want something a bit different? Here are some new locations to try.
The best time of day for family photos in Victoria BC
So what time should we meet? Picking a time for your photos doesn’t need to be complicated. Timing comes down to two things: when the light will be the prettiest, and when your kids will be at their best!
Victoria,BC gardens to visit with kids
We may live in Canada’s Garden City but when’s the last time you took your kids to enjoy one Victoria’s lush garden spaces? Don’t let the manicured lawns and delicate plants intimidate you. Kids love to play on the grass, explore the winding trails and admire the blossoms. I’ve spent a lot of time in gardens with my kids and here are a few of my faves.

How to prepare the kids - your Victoria,BC photoshoot
Yes, your kids can be this happy for their next photoshoot! Here are my top tips:
Get them involved in outfit selection. Kids love to have some say in what they wear instead of having the decision sprung on them the morning of the shoot. If you want some control, try the good old, “would you rather wear this shirt or that one” trick with some pre-chosen clothes.
What to wear to family photos in Victoria, BC
What do you recommend we wear? It’s the most common question I get. And one I don’t think I’ve answered very well (until now! :D). To explain, I believe the subject’s happiness/attitude is the most important. My skills are very important too. But what you choose to wear will never make or break the photo. I appreciate your desire to look you best though and what you wear can definitely enhance an image. So I’ve complied my top tips to help you feel like a rockstar for your next shoot!
